While the department of Strategies welcomes hundreds of French students with diverse backgrounds and diverse objectives (career change, need for improvement in a specific field of competence, desire to advance their careers), it also receives, thanks to its international programs (courses in English), students from all over the world: Africa, Asia, South and North America, as well as Europe. General Management, Marketing, Sustainable Development, Documentary Engineering, and Criminal Sciences are just a few of the many themes offered by the department of Strategies, which alone offers no less than 65 programs.

The whole world in the classroom! - 17th intake for the Cnam Masters in Management

They come from Mexico, India, China, the United States, the Philippines and of course France… In total, over 30 nationalities representing countries from 5 continents. They are joining Master 1 while others are entering the last year of the Master.

"They" are these international students, young women and men, aged 25 on average, who will be the managers of tomorrow which companies will fight to hire in order to swell their ranks with skilled profiles, trained for the economy of the future. We are proud that these students have chosen France and in particular CNAM as a crossroads of ideas and innovations.

Among these students, a happy few have been awarded prestigious scholarships for the completion of their studies at the Cnam Paris: 2 received the Eiffel Scholarship of Excellence, 3 the Total Energies Scholarship in Mozambique and 1 the “Bourse du Gouvernement Français” in Nigeria. This in itself represents a renewed vote of confidence from French international organisations towards the Cnam which has over the years, built a solid reputation well beyond its national borders.

Another novelty this year is the addition of apprentices within the MiMs cohorts. They will study and work all along the program while their full-time fellow students will complete a 3 to 6 months’ professional internship at the end of their Master 2.

The Master in Management in detail ...

The Masters in Management programs, exclusively taught in English, tackle managerial issues from an international perspective. 3 majors are now available in master 2, master 1 being common program to all majors. A fourth will be open at the start of the 2022 school year.

The learning mode greatly promotes relationships between work groups. The idea is that cultural differences are not a barrier to communication, but rather a solution to understanding the world, and the business world in particular. This intrnational environment is indeed inspiring and stimulating, it provides students with an insight on multicultural management and enables students to develop an international network.

Philippe Dume is an adjunct faculty at CNAM in Paris lecturing on digital transformation. He is also Vice President Operational Excellence at Trivium Packaging. He was previously Senior Vice President at McKinsey leading large scale transformations and held various general director positions at Alstom, a rolling stock manufacturer and Impress, a packaging company. He has been living many years abroad in countries such as UK, USA, Russia and Romania. He is the author of a book on managing change (“Gérer le changement avec la méthode ACE”). He holds an MBA from the London Business School and an MSc from the University of Manchester.

AMBAs Accreditation

The Cnam MBA has been AMBA accredited since 2007. The choice of this accreditation rather than another is that AMBA represents the highest standard of achievement in postgraduate business education and focuses on the programme rather than the institution. Besides, students, Higher Education Institutions, and Employers recognise that AMBA accreditation is an assurance of quality which is particular relevant in the very competitive market of higher education.

Furthermore, AMBA currently accredits programmes at over 200 business schools in more than 70 different countries which was essential to give our MBA international credibility and status. Global Management Challenge

GMC is a competition between several teams, compiled by the biggest French business schools and companies. After having been trained and selected in the transversal modules and business simulations, MIM and MBA students represent the Cnam-IIM to participate in GMC competitions. In 2009, the Cnam-IIM team won the National Championship trophy for France, and participated in the International Championship. The Cnam-IIM are very pround with their GMC teams as every year from 2010 the Cnam team presenst in the final round of France, among the best 8 schools in National French Challenge.

Exciting news for our MBA!

The RNCP Level 7 Operational Unit Director title has been renewed for 5 years, the maximum accreditation period granted by France Compétences. Based on graduates and employers’ feedbacks, the certification has been upgraded from Operational Unit Manager to Operational Unit Director. This is a clear reflection of the real impact of our training on career progression. A Level 7 RNCP certification is equivalent to a Master’s degree, validating advanced managerial and strategic skills recognized nationally and professionally. This renewal is a collective achievement, made possible by our dedicated teams, partners, and graduates who bring the program to life every day.

Hi, I'm Charles, I'm a H-MBA student at CNAM.
I choose to follow the H-MBA's courses because I believed that it will help me; bring a lot of knowledge I don’t possess yet and which will be useful to my professional projects. Applying to the MBA degree is also a way to find some great educators with field experience. It’s also well-known, that CNAM’s teachers are great examples of professionals. This year, I decided that it was the best period of my life to follow this MBA. I have 25 years of work experience in IT, years during which I learnt and collected a lot of exciting know-how in different jobs, by beginning as software engineer up to chief information officer (CIO). It is not easy to summarize these two years of MBA Cnam, by words such as, commitment, effort, sacrifice, disappointment, joy, challenge, courage… etc. Because it is an experience of a lifetime and in order to understand it I had to fully live it. Although I have not yet reaped the benefits of this training on a professional point of view, but I feel already its infancy knocking at the door. I get out of this training, enriched technically and humanly speaking, because, friendships and respects are woven with the students and the management of this great adventure. Engage in MBA education is a very important decision, considering the personal, family and financial investment, so it is very important to ask the right questions ahead. After 20 years of professional experience as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Purchasing and Logistics, the opportunity arose for me to take stock of my career and after that I wanted to give to my career. I thought between return to work immediately or do some training. The rest of my career, I saw it in a general management or managing a business unit. The only way I saw to achieve this goal was to do an MBA. I did several searches, and for me the best compromise was the CNAM, a school of reference in training.
The MBA was completely logical and the MBA degree is recognized by all international companies, regardless of the country where they.
In my class, the candidates came from all walks of life, all professions and countries. This patch allows candidates to interact and very different experiences in each module. Life experience when traveling is a strong and unifying element. My experience at the University of San Bernardino is memorable.
This MBA has forced me to get out of my comfort zone and control. I was obliged to put in "learning mode". This is what allowed me to open myself to other subjects that I had no control or that I did not used to take care in my previous work (marketing, project management, cash management, reset my knowledge in finance ...).
Group work forced me to change and correct some of my personality traits to change my management skills. You must accept the level of the group and see how we can make the best group to succeed. I acquired a global vision, is really the main point of this training.
This training helped me to get a job at Bayer as Controlling and Sites Services Manager for the Division Cropscience. The MBA was not on my resume when I applied and during the interview I could explain what I did for a year to my future employer. For him it was an element that has influenced the choice of my application, because my General Manager was also an MBA graduate. Like what, this training is an opportunity to boost his career.

But let’s come back to the recruitment phase. When we interview the candidates, we realize how the MBA is important for them: a real transformation is expected. For some students, it will be the opportunity to prepare the entrance to a management committee; For other students, they want to take a new start. No student has the same professional agenda. At the end of the courses, when starting the consulting project, students start to make an evaluation of their progression and they realize how intense the program was. They point out their improvement during different courses. The ones, who didn’t know marketing, have “opened the box” and the ones, who didn’t like finance before, are not always experts, but they pass the exam! They feel more confident, more mature and they are ready for their next move. I guess they did the job. Working beside them, the teachers and our administrative team also did a good job of supporting the transformation of our students! This is a rewarding part for us as well as for the students! Whish you good luck in your next professional experiences!

The classes are interactive because students are intellectually mature people, determined in their objectives with the drive to always learn more, progress further….
